The long-awaited tender was an important milestone in Myanmar's energy transition, moving towards renewable energy and helping to end its power shortage problem. 1,060MW is about one-third of Myanmar's total dry season power generation, which should not be underestimated. But just a few days after the tender was released, it aroused strong opposition from various chambers of commerce and power companies.
